Florida Commercial and Complex Litigation Lawyers
Established in 1967, Podhurst Orseck has nearly fifty years of trial and appellate practice experience and focuses half of its litigation practice on complex commercial cases.
The term “commercial litigation” encompasses a vast array of practice areas and types of litigation. Our team of lawyers has a strong grasp of virtually every facet. We focus on complex commercial litigation matters, which also include: contract disputes, securities litigation, business torts, anti-trust claims and representative litigation, among many others.
Our trial and appellate attorneys have garnered national recognition for their experience, professionalism and ethical reputation in commercial litigation. The attorneys at Podhurst Orseck have been listed in “Best Lawyers in America” since 1983, making them some of the most widely respected advocates in their fields. Partners Aaron S. Podhurst, Robert C. Josefsberg, Joel D. Eaton and Peter Prieto have consistently earned this distinction and the firm continues to build on this foundation of excellence year after year.
Podhurst Orseck currently holds the prestigious “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell. This rating is the highest possible recognition from Martindale-Hubbell. “U.S. News and World Report,” a recognized leading source of litigation firm rankings, has named Podhurst Orseck a “Tier 1” law firm in the practice area of commercial litigation.
Our Florida commercial litigation law firm represents clients in both straightforward and complex commercial litigation suits, ranging in magnitude from nationally recognized corporate entities to individual clients with equal alacrity.
The firm has enjoyed a history of success and continues to take on challenges that would ordinarily dissuade others. Our experience and perseverance have led our firm to many notable achievements.
In 2011, Podhurst Orseck Partner Aaron Podhurst was co-lead counsel representing a plaintiff class action including over 350,000 individuals in a multi-district overdraft settlement involving over 30 of the largest financial institutions in the country. Part of that case resulted in a $410 million settlement, which lead to a .45-cent-on-the-dollar award against Bank of America for the class. In 2012, the firm went on to secure over half a billion dollars in settlements against other institutions in the lawsuit, including J.P. Morgan Chase, Citizens Bank and others.
Podhurst Orseck was also at the forefront in the Chinese drywall litigation, in which thousands of plaintiffs were impacted when their homes were destroyed by deficient foreign-made drywall materials. Our Florida commercial litigation law firm currently represents thousands of former National Football League players seeking restitution against the League for game-related concussions.
