Kristina Infante joined Podhurst Orseck in 2018, and has since tackled the FBI, Boeing, Volkswagen, Progressive, and the maker of Roundup weed killer. From aviation litigation and mass torts litigation to class actions, Kristina has led or been involved in some of the nation’s most high-profile and noteworthy cases, recovering hundreds of millions of dollars for clients.
Kristina has successfully handled and tried cases of all sizes and involving defendants from a variety of sectors, including against local and federal agencies. Most notably, Kristina was appointed the sole Lead Counsel in the consolidated Federal Tort Claims Act lawsuit against the United States over the FBI’s negligence before the 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. In November 2021, the Department of Justice agreed to a historic $127.5 million settlement – the largest settlement against the federal government in the history of the United States – resolving claims across 40 civil cases.
Negotiated a $57 million settlement with Volkswagen Group of America Inc. and its German parent company, Volkswagen AG, to resolve a class-action lawsuit that benefited more than 300,000 vehicle owners and lessees.
