Maine Plane Crash Updates

Zach litigates complex disputes in courts across the country. He has worked on matters in a variety of
practice areas, including complex commercial litigation, aviation, wrongful death and personal injury,
business disputes, and class actions. Recently, Zach helped secure settlements and judgments on behalf of major aircraft lessors who lost access to their assets in Russia and Ukraine after Russia’s invasion. He also worked to obtain a significant settlement on behalf of the family of a major music producer and his family, who were killed in a plane crash off the coast of the Dominican Republic.

Zach joined Podhurst Orseck after serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Stanley Marcus of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Honorable Federico A. Moreno of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from the New York University School of Law where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, a Florence Allen Scholar, a Lederman Fellow in Law and Economics, served as an Executive Editor of the Law Review, and was a Legal Fellow at the Policing Project. He graduated cum laude from Duke University with a B.A. in Public Policy studies.

Zach is dedicated to public service and his community. Locally, Zach is involved with the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, the United Way Young Professionals Committee, Legal Services of Greater Miami. He also serves various executive committees in the American Association for Justice, including the New Lawyers Division and Aviation Section. His professional and academic experiences reflect a commitment to justice, civic engagement, and community progress. From his service on Duke University’s Board of Trustees to his fellowship work at NYU’s Policing Project, Zach’s career is marked by both legal excellence and a deep commitment to public service.
