UPS Plane Crash Updates

Russian aircraft leasing company Avia Capital Services is suing Boeing for at least $115 million, accusing the manufacturer of fraud and breach of contract. The lawsuit, filed in Illinois, alleges that Boeing hid defects in the 737 MAX jet, which was grounded globally following two fatal crashes that killed a total of 346 people. Represented by Miami-based lawyer Steven Marks, Avia Capital Services claims damages for a $40 million deposit and $75 million in lost profits for the 35 jets it ordered. Marks stated this is the first lawsuit filed by a MAX customer and noted he is in discussions with other airlines about potentially joining the case. Boeing declined to comment on the pending litigation.
