Defense of Three Physicians in High-Stakes Partnership Dispute
2025 – Podhurst Orseck successfully defended three physicians in a multimillion-dollar lawsuit brought by their former pulmonary practice, which alleged unjust enrichment and sought contribution for repayment of significant bank loans. Following years of litigation, the firm secured a final judgment of no liability for all three doctors and obtained two separate awards in 2024 for attorneys’ fees and costs totaling more than $600,000.
The firm also represented one of the above doctors in a related breach of contract case. The court entered judgment in his favor on March 12, 2025, awarding damages and soon-to-be-taxed costs. Podhurst Orseck has prevailed at both the trial and appellate levels, and post-judgment collection efforts are now underway
