UPS Plane Crash Updates

Aaron Podhurst became recognized as an aviation lawyer after being appointed head of the plaintiffs’ steering committee for the Eastern Airlines Flight 401 crash in 1972. Since then, his Miami-based firm, Podhurst Orseck, P.A., has handled over 1,000 aviation-related cases and expanded into complex commercial litigation. Born in New York City, Podhurst attended the University of Michigan on a basketball scholarship before earning his J.D. from Columbia University and moving to Florida in 1961. He co-founded his firm with Bob Orseck in 1967 and has held leadership positions in numerous legal organizations, including the Florida Justice Association and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. Podhurst is also an active volunteer with several South Florida community organizations, such as the University of Miami Board of Trustees and the Miami Art Museum.
