UPS Plane Crash Updates

A Russian aircraft leasing company, Avia Capital Services, has filed the first lawsuit against Boeing from a 737 Max customer, claiming breach of contract. The suit alleges that Boeing designed a “defective” aircraft and intentionally withheld critical safety information before two fatal crashes. Avia seeks to cancel its order for 35 jets and is demanding the return of its $35 million deposit, along with a total of $115 million in compensatory damages and additional punitive damages. Filed by attorney Steven Marks, the lawsuit is described as the first of many expected from other airline operators.
