The Daily Business Review has announced its Professional Excellence awards, recognizing 14 Lifetime Achievers and 23 Rising Stars under 40 in the South Florida legal community. One of the Rising Stars honorees is Roy Altman, a partner at Podhurst Orseck. At 33, Altman has achieved significant accomplishments, including his appointment to the District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission. Altman is the lead trial attorney in litigation against tobacco companies and represents families in a lawsuit over the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. He also previously served as deputy chief of special prosecutions at the U.S. attorney’s office in Miami, where he was named Federal Prosecutor of the Year in 2012.
