Dozens of lawsuits concerning defective auto air bags have been consolidated in Miami federal court under U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno. The lawsuits name air bag manufacturer Takata Corp. and several auto makers, seeking damages for economic losses and personal injuries. South Florida attorney Peter Prieto of the Podhurst Orseck firm has been appointed as chief counsel for all plaintiffs. Other key appointments include Curtis Miner as lead counsel for personal injury plaintiffs, and David Boies and Todd A. Smith as co-lead counsels for plaintiffs seeking economic damages.
