The law firm Podhurst Orseck has initiated a putative class-action lawsuit against Mazda Motor Corp.. The suit alleges a defect in the “Smart City Brake Support” technology in Mazda3 models from 2018 and onward, which can cause the automatic braking system to incorrectly trigger. Attorneys Lea P. Bucciero and Ricardo M. Martinez-Cid are representing plaintiffs who claim the malfunction endangers drivers by causing the vehicle to slow down or brake suddenly without warning. The plaintiffs accuse Mazda of negligent misrepresentation and breach of implied warranty, among other violations.
