Evelyn María Veras is a staff attorney at Podhurst Orseck. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education and Behavior from the University of Florida, where she was a Hall of Fame recipient and an active member of Florida Blue Key.

She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she served as a Senior Articles Editor on the Florida Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court Team Executive Board. She was a judicial extern at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida for the Honorable Lurana S. Snow.

Prior to joining the firm, Evelyn practiced at Walker, Revels, Greninger, PLLC, where she handled a high-volume caseload involving general liability, property, and personal injury matters. In that role, she managed all phases of litigation, including leading discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing motions, and preparing cases for trial. She also worked closely with expert witnesses and prepared matters for mediation and arbitration, contributing to favorable case resolutions.

Evelyn previously practiced at Akerman LLP, where she represented clients in complex civil litigation matters and commercial disputes, and gained experience in both state and federal courts. She also previously worked for the Florida Legislature, focusing on policy reform within the Insurance & Banking and Local Administration Subcommittees.

Evelyn is admitted to the Florida Bar. She is fluent in Spanish and has conversational proficiency in French and Portuguese.
