The law firm Podhurst Orseck, led by attorneys Peter Prieto and Chris Lebsock, secured a $25.5 million fee in a major class-action lawsuit. The case was brought against several Norwegian salmon distributors, including Mowi ASA and Grieg Seafood ASA, on behalf of over 800 direct purchasers. The plaintiffs alleged these companies colluded to manipulate the price of farm-raised salmon in violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act. U.S. District Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga approved the $85 million settlement, from which the attorney fees were allocated, noting the case’s complexity which involved translating and reviewing over 62 million pages of documents.
