UPS Plane Crash Updates

A lawsuit filed by John Wisekal on behalf of his late wife, Darian Wisekal, accused Laboratory Corp. of America (LabCorp) of medical negligence. The case centered on a 2008 Pap smear that LabCorp reported as negative, which plaintiff attorneys Sean Domnick and Stephen Rosenthal argued contained pre-invasive cancer cells that were missed by an overworked employee. After Darian Wisekal was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2010 and later died, a jury awarded her estate $15.8 million. The final award was reduced from $20.1 million after the jury found Wisekal 25 percent liable for not getting a Pap smear the following year.
