The law firm Podhurst Orseck secured a $60 million judgment for its client, the Brix Group, against Cell Solutions International, Inc., a company owned by nightclub owner Clive Seecomar. The award, granted by Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Spencer Eig, consisted of a $20 million investment recovery and $40 million in punitive damages. According to the suit filed by Podhurst Orseck attorney John Gravante III, Seecomar absconded with investment funds and operated a Ponzi scheme through his company, which claimed to refurbish and sell used cellular phones in Latin America.
