Jacob H. Koffsky is a Miami native and a trial lawyer. He focuses his practice on complex commercial cases and class actions, handling matters across state and federal courts and in arbitration.
Jacob joined Podhurst Orseck from the Department of Justice, where he served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Florida. In that role, he investigated, prosecuted, and tried numerous criminal cases that involved violent crimes, narcotics trafficking, child exploitation crimes, fraud schemes, and money laundering, among other offenses.
Earlier in his career, Jacob clerked for the Honorable Roy K. Altman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Jacob also worked at Foley & Lardner LLP as an associate and, before he became a lawyer, at American Express as a financial analyst.
Jacob obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law, cum laude, and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
Jacob cares deeply about public service and actively volunteers in the community. Currently, Jacob is a Board Member with the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s Young Leadership Division, where he serves as an Attorneys Liaison.
Jacob also volunteers with Experience Camps, an organization dedicated to grieving children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver.
