Miami-based law firm Podhurst Orseck has joined the legal team representing plaintiffs in an invasion-of-privacy and stalking lawsuit against the Church of Scientology and actor Danny Masterson. The complaint, filed in Los Angeles County, alleges that Masterson sexually assaulted three women and that the Church of Scientology subsequently organized harassment campaigns to silence them. Attorneys Ricardo Martinez-Cid and Lea Bucciero of Podhurst Orseck are collaborating with Philadelphia lawyer Brian Kent on behalf of the plaintiffs. Representatives for both the Church of Scientology and Masterson have denied the allegations, with Masterson’s lawyer calling the suit “beyond ridiculous” and stating an intention to countersue.
